For the past few years we’ve been on a journey around Aotearoa (New Zealand) chatting to mums, dads and their whanau (families) asking them what they need from their kai (food).
Turns out it was pretty simple. They want the best for their whanau, but finding the time and the right ingredients isn’t always easy. For them it’s about real, healthy food, that’s packed with good stuff, and fast and easy to make. Oh, and food their kids will actually eat!
So our quest continued… we got back on the road to find the right people and the best produce to bring you Whaiora.
We found premium oats in Canterbury, sweet juicy berries in Nelson, pure milk from Taupo, tasty honey from the South Island and lush fruits and vegetables from all over NZ. We also found some delicious fruits and vegetables from faraway places. Most importantly, we found people who care about nurturing our world as much as we do. Whaiora had begun, Ka rawe!
Kaitiaki (guardians of the land)
The value of kaitiakitanga (guardianship) is right at the heart of everything we do. Every step of the Whaiora process, sourcing, blending and packaging, shows our promise to preserving natural resources for future generations. We’ve drawn nourishment from Papatuanuku (earth mother) from the beginning of time, and we know that to take care of ourselves we must also take care of our whenua.
